ToiletTree Professional Rechargeable Oral Irrigator with high Capacity Water Tank Review

See our updated review of the 2015 version here.

ToiletTree’s Rechargeable Oral Irrigator was relaunched in August 2013 with a version 2.0. They took into consideration much of what their customers wanted changed from the first version and delivered with this model, including a larger water tank than the first version. They even offered free upgrades to people who were not happy with the first version, showing a real commitment to customer service and quality. They are willing to listen and improve upon products in a way that many other companies don’t seem to be able to do.

This is a great overall unit that hits on pretty much all of the major points.

There are 3 settings, so while it does not rival the Waterpik‘s 10 pressure settings, it is a pretty good mixture from soft to normal to pulse mode. You should be able to find something that is comfortable for you, and you also get the versatility to change settings if you need to get out stubborn food, for example. It’s also helpful if there are multiple people using it, each with different preferences. We are big proponents of products having enough options to serve the most amount of people, as long as quality is not compromised.

The versatility is enhanced by the two interchangeable tips, or nozzles, which means if you’re buying this just for yourself, it improves longevity, but if you are using it as a couple, each of you can get a nozzle through which your teeth with be cleaned with your chosen pressure setting.

An important feature is actually in regards to the nozzles. They rotate fully with ease, simply by using your fingers to guide where you want it to go. This is much better than some of the competition. Some units make you have to move your hand or arm to get into all the hard to reach places. With this, it makes total sense and you don’t even have to think about where you need to move to next, because as you move it in your mouth, you simply guide the angle of the nozzle with your fingers.

The quality is great and as mentioned, the company actually cares about its products on a level that almost seems personal.

Keep in mind that rechargeable batteries eventually wear out and stop being able to hold a charge, but you should expect to get a few years out of them before needing a replacement.

We don’t really understand the need for three different colors for a water flosser, but there you have it…the ToiletTree comes in:

  • White
  • Gray
  • Black

Perhaps we should just chalk that up to extra versatility!

This oral irrigator will do the job and doesn’t take up as much room as a corded counter-top unit, obviously. User after user is leaving it superb reviews on Amazon.com – it is currently sitting at a very high 4.5 out of 5 stars. People seem to be much happier with this unit than the first iteration, which, as we mentioned, the company saw flaws in and used customer advice to improve.

We approve of ToiletTree as a company putting out good products and giving good customer service, we like this unit in particular, and the reviews this thing gets make us very happy to recommend it to you if you are looking for a versatile unit for home or travel that does not take up a lot of space.
